You can be certain that many of your participants will bring a cell phone, PDA, or other mobile device to the presentation. Hearing ringing or beeping during a presentation can be very distracting.

At the beginning of your presentation, remind everyone to turn off their devices or set the ringer to vibrate. If you notice more ringing or beeping during the presentation, give another reminder. If it continues, you may need to specifically address the person(s) whose device keeps making noise.
