Practicing Beforehand

Now that you’ve personalized and localized your presentation, it’s time to practice. It’s important not to ignore this step because you will appear more credible and earn your audience’s respect if you can smoothly run through the presentation and appear confident in your knowledge.

Understand the content before going into the presentation, and be sure to rehearse with the equipment you’ll be using. You don’t want to be fumbling with equipment during the presentation.

As you’re rehearsing, time and pace yourself. Are you falling within the timeframe or going over? Make adjustments so that you have enough time left for questions.

Don’t make up stories and examples off the cuff—know which ones you’re going to tell beforehand. Not only will this help you ensure you have enough time to give the presentation, but it will give your presentation a more polished look and feel if you’ve already practiced your stories and examples.
