In addition to rehearsing the presentation beforehand, arrive early to the facility to set up and practice before participants arrive. Don’t waste your audience’s valuable time by setting up or fumbling with equipment when it’s time to be presenting.
In some cases, you may be unable to rearrange the seating. If this is the case for you, a traditional classroom style setup will work.
If you are able and your group is small enough, move the seats into a “U” or “horseshoe” shape. This enables all audience members to be able to see you, the PowerPoint presentation, and any other visual aids you have.
If possible, adjust the room temperature so that it’s comfortable, not too hot or cold.
Adjust lighting and blinds as necessary.
