Because your audience will be primarily made up of parents, it’s important to approach the subject matter with sensitivity. If there have been documented drug problems with young people in your area, parents may be emotionally charged. Stick to the facts presented in the presentations.
Instead of saying, “Our kids are doing drugs,” or “Your kids are in danger of drug abuse,” keep it general. “More and more teens are abusing prescription pain killers. Here’s a statistic.”
