The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA's) National Mental Health Information Center provides information about mental health. The Center was developed for users of mental health services and their families, the general public, policy makers, providers and the media. Center staff members are skilled at listening and responding to questions from the public and professionals and will quickly direct callers to federal, state and local organizations dedicated to treating and preventing mental illness. The Center also has information on Federal grants, conferences and other events.
